The Capital Area Curves Lady Gladiators improved to 2-1 with a
20-7 victory over the Saint John Storm at Simonds High Field,
handing the Storm its third loss in as many starts.
Tania Ramore scored the first major of the game for the Lady
Gladiators just before halftime. Amanda Hennick scored early in
the second half and with the successful convert by Alex Black, the
Lady Gladiators led 14-0. They stretched that to 20-0 when Black
scored in the fourth quarter. Storm scored late in the fourth and
managed to run it in for the extra point. Previous starts for the Lady Gladiators saw them beat Moncton Vipers 13-0 but lose 8-6 to the Halifax Xplosion last week at Leo Hayes Field. They've got the bye for the holiday weekend, returning to action against the Vipers Sunday, July 8 at Mackenzie field in Oromocto. |
