Saint John Storm tame the Vipers
   

MONCTON - Lisa Harlow had two touchdowns in propelling the Saint John Storm to a 16-8 win over the Moncton Vipers in Maritime Women's Football League action. Terri Shannon converted both TDs, which were fuelled by big runs from front fullback Tammy Saunders. Justine Barter scored for Moncton, while Kristen Chatterton had the convert. The Storm and Vipers are tied for first at 3-1 each. In other MWFL action, the Capital Area Gladiators are 2-2 after winning 33-6 over the Halifax Xplosion (0-4).

  
Lady Glads even grid mark at 2-2 
   

Quarterback Alex Black scored three touchdowns and added a two point convert to lift the Capital Area Curves Lady Gladiators to a 33-6 win over the Halifax Xplosion in Maritime Women's Football League action at Chapman Field Saturday.

Cassie Comeau had another pair of touchdowns for the Lady Gladiators, who improve their season record to 2-2 with the win. Julie Rouette had the touchdown for the Xplosion, who fall to 0-4 on the season with the loss.

In the other game in the four team circuit, the Saint John Storm moved into a first place tie with the Moncton Vipers with a 16-8 victory. Both teams are now 3-1 on the season. The Lady Gladiators complete the regular season with two road games, with the next one coming up next Saturday, a 6:30 p.m. kickoff against the Vipers at Moncton's Rocky Stone Field.

The Gladiators men's team was idle this past weekend. The Saint John Wanderers crushed the Moncton Marshals 40-0, while the Riverview Mustangs got by the Dartmouth Knights 17-14. The Gladiators, 3-1 and leading the four-team Western Conference, are in Halifax next Saturday to face the Shockers, also 3-1, at Saint Mary's University.
